RSB-6 Bookshelf Speakers
The RSB-6 are full-range reference bookshelf speakers, designed with the aim to minimize unwanted resonances and distortion in order to preserve the purity of the music. Every part of the speaker has been meticulously engineered for optimal sound reproduction. The RSB-6 provides full-bodied sound with beautiful texture and precision in the bass, alongside an incredibly wide and realistic spatial presentation.
Enclosure Design
The main goal of our custom-designed enclosure is to create ideal conditions for the drivers without introducing unwanted resonances or distortions. As a result, it is built from MDF with a thickness of up to 44mm and features several robust internal braces to ensure that resonances are far beyond the range of the mid-bass driver.
The front panel is 44mm thick, ensuring the drivers are perfectly mechanically grounded. Rounded front edges dramatically reduce diffraction caused by the front panel, improving the linearity of the range and the accuracy of spatial reproduction. A special damping material, Bitumen, significantly reduces resonances, while high-quality acoustic foam and polyester absorb standing waves and reflections within the speaker.
Tweeter
We use a proven silk dome tweeter with a resonance chamber that delivers natural, detailed sound without unpleasant harshness. A large ferrite magnet with a sizable resonance chamber enables this tweeter to play from 1200Hz. The ferrofluid-cooled coil ensures high output levels without overheating. A wide dispersion pattern allows the tweeter to maintain a flat frequency response up to 20kHz, even off-axis.
Mid-Bass Driver
The RSB-6 is equipped with a premium mid-bass driver from Danish brand SB Acoustics. The cone is made from mineral-filled polypropylene, providing exceptional stiffness while maintaining low mass. The moving mass of the driver is only 11g, ensuring precise acceleration and deceleration. The driver uses a thick cast basket and a non-conductive fiberglass voice coil former, providing high performance with minimal distortion.
Passive Radiator
The passive radiator selected for this model is unique in its shape, offering a large diaphragm area while occupying minimal space on the enclosure.
Why Use a Passive Radiator?
By using a passive radiator, the enclosure behaves as both partially sealed and partially open. This design ensures very accurate bass reproduction and a deep frequency response that reaches below 34Hz in ideal room conditions.
Crossover
The crossover is a crucial component of the speaker, and we have ensured that it meets the highest standards. For the RSB-6, we have used top-tier components from brands such as Jantzen, including Cross-cap capacitors, Superior Z-cap bypass capacitors, large-gauge air-core inductors, and resistors from the renowned German brand Mundorf (M-Resist Supreme 20W). These resistors operate at very low temperatures and maintain their value even after extended listening sessions.
Wiring
As with all our products, the RSB-6 series uses premium wiring from the UK-based brand QED, paired with solder containing a high silver content to ensure superior conductivity and long-term durability.
