Speaker enclosure

The speaker enclosure is a key component of the PB-6 speakers, designed to provide optimal conditions for the drivers while minimizing unwanted resonances. It is made from 18 mm thick MDF, reinforced with sturdy bracing to control resonance and enhance stability. These measures ensure clean, accurate sound without unwanted vibrations.

Bassreflex

The PB-6 speakers are equipped with a proven slot port design that reduces airflow turbulence and eliminates the typical resonances associated with plastic ports. Made from MDF, the slot port also acts as an additional brace for the cabinet, contributing to a more solid sound. The reduced airflow turbulence enhances acoustic performance by minimizing compression and port noise at lower frequencies.

Internal damping

The PB-6 speaker uses a carefully selected combination of polyester fiber and acoustic foam as internal damping materials. This blend helps to absorb unwanted resonances and standing waves inside the enclosure, resulting in cleaner mids and tighter bass response. The materials were chosen for their excellent acoustic properties and long-term stability, contributing to the speaker's clear, dynamic sound and overall tonal balance.

Tweeter

The high-frequency driver comes from the renowned Danish manufacturer SB Acoustics and is capable of extending up to 30 kHz. It is engineered for exceptionally clean and detailed sound reproduction, with minimal harshness and a wide dispersion pattern. This ensures excellent imaging and a spacious, natural soundstage that brings your music to life.

Midrange driver

The midbass driver is also sourced from SB Acoustics and features a specially developed paper cone that delivers beautifully articulated bass and natural-sounding midrange frequencies. It is housed in a rigid, non-resonant composite basket and includes optimized venting for excellent thermal management and dynamic performance. The result is a well-controlled, musical response across the lower and mid-frequency spectrum.

Crossover

The crossover is a crucial element in any loudspeaker, and for the PB-6 it has been designed with a strong focus on quality and precision. We use premium components from the renowned Danish brand Jantzen, including polypropylene capacitors, high-grade Ele Cap electrolytic capacitors, Superes 10W resistors with 1% tolerance, and air-core inductors. This carefully selected component set ensures high accuracy, low distortion, and outstanding sonic clarity throughout the entire frequency range.

Cabling

The PB-6 infrastructure focuses not only on high-quality drivers and crossovers but also on the use of premium OFC cables from Jantzen. These cables feature a cross-section of 2 x 2.5 mm² and are twisted to reduce noise. They are soldered with high-quality, silver-rich solder, ensuring clean signal transmission without any interference.
